The celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day is a moment eagerly awaited by all Indonesians. It is a time when people come together to honor the nation’s journey through various traditions, including the flag ceremony and joyful competitions that unite the community.
In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence, Edu Global Junior and Senior High School held a solemn Flag Raising Ceremony on August 17. The ceremony was conducted with pride, with junior high school students serving as the flag ceremony officers. The role of the ceremony inspector was carried out by Mr. Noegraha, Special Staff of the Operational Division from Yayasan Kreasi Edulab Indonesia (YKEI).
During his address, Mr. Noegraha emphasized that the 80th Independence Day should remind us to strengthen our spirit of nationalism and resilience by remembering the sacrifices of the heroes. He underlined that our heroes are the true role models, showing us the importance of dedicating ourselves not only for personal growth but also for the benefit of others. He also encouraged the students to become future heroes—bringing positive impact to the world in line with the school’s vision of supporting global education.
In addition to the ceremony, Edu Global Junior High School also held a series of traditional competitions, a beloved tradition in every Independence Day celebration. The competitions, which took place on August 27 and were organized by the Student Government (SG), included classic and modern games such as krupuk eating contest, gobak sodor, musical chairs, Newtonian fluid challenge, badminton, photography, and drawing.
The students participated with great enthusiasm, competing in a spirit of sportsmanship. Beyond the excitement, these activities taught valuable lessons about character, teamwork, and integrity. The competitions were not only fun but also helped foster a sense of nationalism, while showing that true competition lies in giving one’s best with honesty and respect.
Through these celebrations, it is hoped that students will continue to grow with the values of nationalism, unity, and resilience—rooted in the nation’s foundation, Pancasila—while also preparing themselves to be individuals who bring meaningful contributions both locally and globally.
